Final Days to Register for Spring Ball
by posted 01/02/2015

The Balcones Youth Sports Spring Ball Season begins in mid-February there's just a few days left to get registered!  We're accepting player registrations for boys and girls from 4 years old up to 14 years old.  The Spring Season is a more competitive program and teams will have 12-17 games, two practices per week and older kids will inter-league.  There are several special events during the Spring Season including: Opening Day, Team Photos Day, Balcones Day & MLB’s PHR (Pitch Hit & Run Competition).  We will have a free skills clinic prior to the season opener, there will also be special preseason meetings for parents:  Parent Rep (team Mom’s or Dad’s), Scorekeeping Clinic, Umpiring Clinic, Coaches Clinic (dates to be announced). The registration fee includes costs for player shirts and hats.  There are sibling discounts for families with multiple players. BYS does have a refund policy provided the request is submitted to the BYS President prior to the season.*

Make plans to play ball at Balcones Youth Sports! BYS participates in the Post Season District 11 Tournament in June and July aka City and State All-Star tournaments (additional player entry fees apply).  These exciting tournaments have prerequisites to qualify to participate: the player must have played with a chartered Little League Team prior to the post-season tournament, live within the LL boundaries and have proof of age, residency. BYS’s 11-12 year old team has won the City Tournament two years in a row and our other divisions have advanced to the semi-finals in most other divisions played.  We’d like to encourage you to sign up early and get ready to play ball next Spring! For Softball, there are post-season tournaments, last Spring our Pony team advanced to sectionals and the Mustang team placed 8th in Central Texas! For more information, see our FAQs pages for Little League Baseball or Softball.  * See FAQs page regarding refund policy.

Little League Adjust Wage Determination Regs
by posted 11/30/2014

After several requests from local Little League districts, the Little League Board of Directors voted in favor to adjust the age determination charts for baseball players.  This allows players to be placed in divisions that suit their skill level and not just their age group. It also ensures that players who were league age 7 for the 2014 season and are now league age 9 for the 2015 season, and have the ability, to transition to the next division. This new rule affects other age groups too.   Click here for more information.
